Rivals.com Names Brentwood Academy's Jalen Ramsey Top Player in the State
Varsity Football

According to White, Ramsey is a weapon at numerous positions, a thought that is shared by Rivals.com as Ramsey is listed as "Athlete" under the position column. Although Ramsey is primarily a cornerback, he's athleticism lends to various positions.
In an interview with Rivals.com, Ramsey expressed his thought that being listed as "Athlete" rather than a specific position is a compliment. "I don't want to say I am just a cornerback," Ramsey shared. "I don't want coaches to think I can only do one thing and if they move me off that position I am going to quit on them. I can do a lot on the football field."
Ramsey will have his opportunity on June 22-24 to show exactly what he can do on the football field at the Rivals 100 Five-Star Challenge in Atlanta. Not only will the invited prospects receive coaching from NFL alumni, they will also have the opportunity to match up against the finest talent in the country.
While recruiters will look on to judge Ramsey's athletic potential, Coach White was sure to mention the unlimited potential Jalen has on and off the field.
"He's a very good student," commented White. "He's a lot more than an explosive athlete, and his potential is unlimited. I'm looking forward to seeing all that he does."

One hundred of the country's top high school football prospects have been invited to take part in the inaugural Rivals 100 Five-Star Challenge. Among those highly recruited athletes is Jalen Ramsey of Brentwood Academy.
Ramsey was named the top player in the state of Tennessee by Rivals.com, and will travel to Atlanta to join the nation's other 79 top prospects from the class of 2013 and 20 from the class of 2014.
"Jalen is an extremely explosive player," commented BA's head football coach, Cody White.
Coach White also pointed to the fact that Ramsey has the ability to "Play tall, covering a lot of grass." His 6 foot frame is a great match up for the prototypical wide receiver, and his speed coupled with his 40 inch vertical have proven to be quite enticing to recruiters.
