Franklin Football Secures Second Seed

Both the Franklin Rebels and the Brentwood Bruins entered the game with tied records of 6-3 overall and 3-1 in the district. Both teams’ one district loss was to the Independence Eagles. After a wild game of turnovers, Franklin broke the tied record and finished the regular season with a 24-10 win over Brentwood, and secured sole ownership of the district’s second seed.

Last week in a district showdown between the Independence Eagles and the Brentwood Bruins, the Eagles came out on top for their first win ever at Brentwood High School, 13-7
Tonight, the Eagles will face the Lincoln County Falcons who are also 2-1 and are coming off of a high scoring 35-13 win last week.

When a new football coach takes over a team, he may never know what he is walking into. Coach Roc Batten, the new head football coach of the BGA Wildcats was pleased with the leadership and character he encountered within his new team.
“I was very fortunate to walk into a good situation as far as the state of the team and leadership within it,” said Batten. “ We have a very experienced team with a lot of returning seniors. It’s a really good senior class in terms of leadership and character,” he continued.

Tonight football kicks off all across the country. The football season will officially begin for
Page Middle School at 6 p.m. as Coach Donnie Clemons and his Panthers head to Brentwood. "Brentwood is always a tough game for us. I have the greatest respect for Coach Harrison and Coach Roach," said Clemons. "They always put together a great team."
According to Clemons, "It's pretty early in the season to tell just how 'big' tonight's game will be."

Thousands of Youth Football Players Take Over Middle Tennessee Today

If you are out and about today somewhere in Middle Tennessee, chances are you’ll pass by a football game being played. Today is the Tennessee Youth Football Alliance Jamboree. This year, the TYFA consists of 24 communities, sponsoring 204 teams made of children from age five to fourteen. These teams combine for a grand total of 4,173 football players and 949 cheerleaders! In order to pull off such a large event including so many players, games will be played throughout the day at numerous parks all over Middle Tennessee.
